Angel Cakes is owned and managed by Angela Woodhead. Like many full time mums,
Angela turned a long term hobby into a profession which could be worked around a
busy family life. From a very early age Angela could be found in the kitchen on Sunday
mornings creating mouth watering desserts for tea time. Encouraged by her mum,
Carole, she quickly progressed from ‘packet mixes’ to home made choux and flaky
pastry and fancy cakes.
An aptitude for languages led Angela down a totally different career path and
the
sweet dessert was put aside for a few years whilst a fun time was had as
a
bi-lingual PA in London during the prosperous Eighties! Further roles
followed
as PA/Office Manager and Event Manager.
Many years and two children later, Angela took up a hobby - evening
classes in cake decorating at a local college. Finding it a fun, this set the
scene for
Angel Cakes. A seasoned perfectionist, Angela took up a
professional
course in cake decorating at the Sheffield College,
complemented by
regular top-ups with the industry professionals, such
as
Debbie Brown and
Lindy Smith. The local Sugarcraft Guild has also been
a great
source of inspiration
and confidence.
Angel Cakes is now in its’ second year of trading. If you would like Angela to make your wedding or
